Still, much is largely unknown about the Xbox One, which is why IGN has created a thread in which it asks Microsoft questions pertaining to its forthcoming platform. One such question that many gamers have been wondering is whether or not cross-platform titles (i.e. Titanfall and Call of Duty: Ghosts) will utilize the same list of achievements. According to Xbox One architect Marc Whitten, achievements from titles that appear on both 360 and One will be completely separate from one another.

This revelation isn’t at all surprising given the new option that developers have to modify achievement lists on the Xbox One. Couple that with the fact that it’s entirely new hardware, and dedicated achievement junkies have a reason to upgrade to the Xbox One’s dynamic and ever evolving chievo system. As PlayStation users are already familiar with, cross-platform PS3/Vita titles (such as PlayStation All-Stars) also have their own separate trophy lists, which makes this revelation even less shocking. Regardless, it’s an interesting thing to know for those who plan on owning both consoles.

What do you think of Microsoft separating the achievement lists for cross-platform Xbox 360 and Xbox One games, Ranters?
