He joins Manika Batra and Soumyajit Ghosh as the other two players from India to have made it through to the Games in August. Das, the other contender on the day, couldnt make it through to the Games afdter losing her match to Ri Myong Sun of North Korea.
Sharath’s maiden appearcne at the Olympics came during the 2004 Athens Olympics as a 22-year-old.
