Seedorf took over the charge of the club from Massimiliano Allegri earlier this January, however, owning to clashes with Vice-president Adriano Galliani and Milan’s unconvincing performance with them finishing on the eight spot in the table, the Dutch will now be facing the axe.

According to Goal, club CEO Adriano Galliani and president Silvio Berlucsoni held a meeting on Monday in order to discuss prospects for candidates who could take over as manager for the next season, and Inzaghi emerged out as the only viable candidate.

Inzaghi, 40, had signed a two-year deal back in 2012–13 season, to manage the under-19 team of Milan, Primavera.
